Xiaomi Redmi 8A - 5ghz wifi

I will appreciate any help here.

I have purchased a Xiaomi Redmi 8A yesterday.

I can connect to my 2.4GHZ Wifi network easily. (both at home and at work).

But my phone cannot see any 5GHZ networks. At home and at work,. Therefore I cannot connect to any of them.

My 2.4ghz & 5ghz network have different names (both at home & at work)

I have done a reset on my phone. Changed my region.

But still no joy. Any suggestions?

*I also have a Xiaomi Note 3. I have no trouble connecting to the 2.4ghz and 5ghz network at any time.*

Facepalm.

Went to the offical MI Global website.( A lot of other websites got it wrong actually) The Redmi 8A only supports 2.4GHZ.

Strange move by Xiaomi to release a new phone that only supports 2.4Ghz .

O well.......
