So after much speculation, Redmi Note 5 is a rebranded Redmi 5 Plus with the same specs...

What is interesting is the Note 5 Pro with the new Snapdrago 636 processor which seems to offer great performance bang for buck and SD625 battery performance at the same time. But, at just on $220, I would probably still buy my stock Android Mi A1 again. Maybe. Tough choice.....

Poor show if it is Nougat, though considering a lot of their devices are still on Marshmallow it would be a step up.

Launching a Nougat device 6 months after Oreo :wtf: Never buying another Xiaomi device in my life.

I also noticed this. Miui updates are really slow and behind. Up to date Oreo on the Mi A1 would probably swing me in that direction again (I am very happy with my Mi A1)

Also, in the launch they compared the Note 5 Pro camera to the iPhone X. Now I am very anti Apple, but there is no f-ing way that Xiaomi is going to come close to flagship Apple or Samsung rear camera's and I speak from hands on experience.

Also, they need a smack for still putting out phones without USB-C. I have now purchased at least 6 USB-C cables for home, work, car, laptop bag and will not go backwards again.

Last whine - the plastic caps top and bottom. I can excuse the plastic as it is cheaper than unibody+antenna lines but the fact that they are STILL a different colour shade to the back panel. How hard can it be FFS?

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a powerful Snapdragon 636 chip, which is it's first Global debut; the processor is paired with the Adreno 509 GPU, based on Qualcomm's Custom Kyro 260 cores, clocked at 1.8GHz. The SD 636 has 40% higher performance when compared to an SD 630. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is the most powerful Redmi, as the device scores an impressive 107,899 on Antutu benchmark. While the new Huawei P Smart score under 75000, the P10 Lite is around 65000.

When the hell will TAKEALOT start stocking these???
They get their stock from MIA Africa, so when MIA Africa decides to bring it into SA then it will be stocked by Takealot.

Still using the Note 3. Best value for money I ever got. Flashed it with NitrogenOS. Hope they support the Note 5 xD
