Xiaomi Redmi4A not responding with ABSA SureCheck MMI

Hi. Anyone else get an "MMI Complete" message when they respond to ABSA app's SureCheck challenge?
I can't send payments. I'm on MTN prepaid.

Tried:

• Restarting phone
• Alternative location / network AP
• Checked that country code prefixes were not automagically added to outgoing
• Unlink, relink device from ABSA online settings menu

I had a problem with getting fingerprint unlock and NFC to work on my Huawei with FNB's app. Needed to go into settings and enable all permissions before it would work.

Try that on your Xiaomi. Even random permissions like camera/bluetooth/phonebook etc.

Ok its not the phone. I put SIM back in old Motorola and tried to pay on PC. SureCheck challenges me on my phone but doesn't get my reply.

I went to bank and asked them to change to use email instead of SMS. Still getting the SureCheck challenge. Maybe config updates at 00:00??

Been having this same issue the last couple of days on my S8+ and MTN prepaid as well. Seems like the problem lies with MTN.

Email rvn4u@absa.co.za and they can change your verification to an email based TVN.

After much complaining MTN finally fixed the issue it seems.
