I have been super impressed with the diligence and response that I have experienced with Xiaomi.
In May 2017, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 had been out a few months, but only available in Gold and White. I sent an email to the Xiaomi head offices in Hong Kong, USA, India, Singapore and Taiwan asking them to please request a BLACK version of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. Every one of the Xiaomi offices responded positively, and said they would forward my request. Some of them even gave me feedback a few days later to confirm that they had discussed the idea with Xiaomi CH.
Well, fast forward 2 months, to June 2017. To my surprise the BLACK Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was launched !!!! Now, I don't know for sure if it was my prodding, or if they already had plans to bring out a black version all along, but I was impressed.
I bought a black version of the Mi Max 2 in July, but it was only available in 64 GB ROM. Now, their gold Mi Max 2 is available in 128 GB ROM. So, I did the same thing - sent off emails to 5 Xiaomi offices in USA, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan asking them to please do a batch of BLACK Mi Max 2 phones, with the same 128 GB ROM that they put in the gold one, but to put it in a black version. There would be no tooling required, they have the 128 GB boards, and it is designed to fit in a Mi Max 2, so they would just need to do a batch of black. Well, like my last request, Xiaomi have been very responsive - I put out the request yesterday (Sunday) and most of them except USA responded on the same day. USA responded today. I will wait to see if they go ahead with it - if they do, my daughter will get my 64 GB Black Mi Max 2, and I will buy another one this time 128 GB.
So good to see such a large company being so responsive and taking care to listen to customers. Most big companies would just shoot off a copy/paste standard response (if you're lucky)
