Hi all,

So i'm trying to help my dad move over to his current email host, that's charging him R5100 pm for 185Gb of email host space. 185 is split up into 18 email addresses, allocating data to each person.

Now i'm dead sure this is a rip-off. So i phoned Xneelo and they said to rather sign up as a reseller and buy the volume package which offer 50GB data and each R200 adds another 50GB. But when i asked them if i can create the emails and allocate the data in the panel, they said no?! I'm confused, could someone explain how their Volume Plan works? and how would you allocate the right amount of mailbox storage to each email address?

Thanks in advance

The issue is, how to i setup individual email addresses with only certain amount of space. Lets say info@ has 5Gb storage, sales@ has 10gb.

They tell me i can't do that in konsole panel.

You can do it on Cpanel. Not sure about konsole.

Check out Afrihost.
They should have a package that would suit you. I guarantee its less than R5K.

From what I remember, KonsoleH does not have an option to specify a per-mailbox quote. Perhaps you can ask their support guys to set something like that up for you from the backend?

But yes 185GB s a lot of pron attachments

185gb is not unrealistic for 18 business mailboxes. We have several users who's business mailboxes each exceed 20GB - and its all legitimate business email - no porn :-)

What about this, Xneelo offers a Volume plan plus every 50GB total storage added is R200 extra. Comes to R1196 pm for 200GB which would cover all the storage needs? Please feel free to comment

Id say office365 is better @ 89.99 / person is R1620, including ms office and 50GB mailbox. For general non IT businesses id still say Office is a lot more useful than Googles suite.

Second prize G suite.

Then downgrade your xneelo to cover only your hosting requirements.

Bit of a pain to migrate over but better off for it in the long term Id say.

One cool thing about MS office hosted mail is the policies you can set on certain folders to, for example, auto delete things older than 365 days etc.

Useful for folders with lots of spammy/status related emails going into it.

Gmail is just $4.8 per user for 30gig storage and Gmail is the best bar none.

I prefer apple mail over Outlook but it doesnt work well with Exchange, so I am now "used to" outlook, it is nice to be able to edit mail filter/rules and it saves direct to server, Outlook also has a good Android app (assume ios too). As @Daruk mentioned the calendar integration is very good too.

For private stuff I use Google for everything incl all their web apps for desktop.

Many options out there, but the best move one can make is to separate website and email.

Host your website via xyz which are good at hosting and use abc for email which are good at email. You might need someone with knowledge to set it up correctly in your dns.

Moving website hosting is far easier as moving email hosting so it is a good investment to define your email needs and find the best solution.

So seems all the pc's have office 365.
Which means the email mailbox 50gb is included in each of their accounts.

We'll be trying that. Keep a 10gb webhosting domain and move the mailboxes into office 365. Should save so much
