XP Home to PRO upgrage, possible???

Is it Possible to Upgrade XP Home to PRO without having to Format??
 
I've done it by booting off the Pro cd and repairing the Home installation...
 
Its for a Client, They were using Pastel (Single User), and now added a Second PC. According to the Pastel Setup Manual, XP Home Won't work, I tried and it doesn't.

XP Home only works for Pastel Single, user, but not on Multiple Users.
 
It is possible, just insert the XP Pro disc while windows is loaded and start the setup, it will update the settings and keep the other software and show you where incompatiblities are, it takes about 40 minutes to complete.

Remember to have the XP lisence details ready ;)
 
Thanks for the suggestions. I found my XP Pro Ugrade Disc, so I'll install XP Home on a test pc and then see if the Upgrade Disc works, if it does then I'll just use it on my clients pc. If It doesn't then I'll try the Repair Installation option.
 
You can do a upgrade with a full XP Pro disc as well, you don't need an Xp upgrade disc, make sure that you aren't trying to install Xp pre Service pack release on a Xp Sp2 machine, rather use a Xp Pro Sp2 disc ;)
 
why would pastel care???
pro is for a network with a domain controller, and there are a few other security features but not much

XP Home only has simple file sharing, according to the Pastel Install Guide you have to set full access for all users when configuring the shared folder.

k, then boot Xp home into Safe-mode to get the extra file attributes ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I Managed t6o upgrade to XP Pro using a normal install disk. Now, when I was Trying to register pastel on the clients new PC, it connects to the Server but I get an invalid PIN Code error,

I choose "Workstation Registration", entered the Server Path (from mapped drive), when I click next I get the Error. I called Pastel Registration Dept. but they said I should call the Installation Dept for Help, they were closed so I'll have to go back tomorrow :(
