XP_history need assistance

-Hi hope there's some1 that can assist me:Is there a tool in WinXP_Pro that will enable me to check the history on my pc, Example: to check who loged on , when (date:time); and what applications were used.the reason for this i have a case at work where some1 claimed to have been on duty on that specific day, can i check on their pc' to verify this?
I know it was possible on Win_98,
Please assist if u know what i can check, already checked c:windows directory but no luck...

If the pc is on a domain, there might be a record of them login in in the 'security' section of 'event viewer'. (right click on 'my computer', 'manage')
Otherwise you could do a search for files modified on that date and see what comes up...

the history tab must be selected by going up to the explorer bar and going to view then explorer bar

- Start / programs /admin tools / local security policy
- expand the local policy and select audit policy
- double click " Audit logon Events" tick both "success and failure" boxes
-double click " Audit process tracking" tick both "success and failure" boxes

These events will now be recorded in event viewer under security or system, can't remember which. Default behaviour of event viewer is to log for 7 days then it's cleared.
