Hi Guys,

Just wanted to post for anyone who has an Xperia C3 and thought that root would never come through and it finally did.
We got the 5.1 Lolipop release a couple of weeks ago, and the Kingroot finally released the root a couple of days ago. Phone is happily rooted now.

Just reporting.

5.1.1 or 5.0.1? Because I thought KingRoot couldn't root 5.1.1 on any device yet?

Bud remember to think before you post! Read what the op wrote..

To me it's not clear whether it's that the C3 finally became supported by Kingroot (I don't recall seeing on the list of supported devices before, but I may have just overlooked it), or whether it's that the C3 finally has 5.1.1 support.
So I asked.

5.1 isn't an answer because .1 often refers to the first version of something so you may get people incorrectly naming 5.0.1 as 5.1. And a couple of weeks ago doesn't help either because I don't know how active development for the C3 is so maybe it only got 5.0.1 then.

Still not applying your mind :(

I think the problem is more that I apply my mind too much :P And then see ambiguity where there is none for others.

Indeed! Just so we on the same page the op was referring to 5.1 which is also the official current lollipop rom for the G4, no ambiguity. :D

Just to confirm, Xperia C3 Dual (from MTN South Africa) running 5.1.1 which was a standard, upgrade from Sony. no root was required. Installed KingRoot, and no root was available tried again two weeks later (roughly a week back from today) & Root was available.
