I want to buy an Android tablet and seems that my choices have come down to the Sony Xperia Z tablet or Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. What is the better tablet for value?

I leaning towards the Note because of S Pen and higher specs though the Xperia is cheaper (and the LTE version is already available).

I decided to go for the Samsung because of the higher specs - mine is on the way from the US, should be here any day.

I ordered the 32GB wifi model, it should work out to about R7000 including shipping and taxes.

I chose the Z it's a beautiful tablet, thin, stylish, fast, screen is awesome and it doesn't run that clunky touch wiz ui.
Having had a Samsung tablet prior this is like a breath of fresh air

I would wait for the Samsung tablet. The screen resolution alone for me is the deciding factor between the 2. Its higher than the Xperia Z tablet.

As mentioned earlier, it has some really good specs on it. I am actually waiting for the LTE edition to be released. I also use the stylus a lot which is absent from the sony tablet. Great feature for me which also includes pressure sensivity (Stylus preference may differ per user).

I like the design of this particular tablet as well. Samsung improved it a lot..... although must admit that the design of the Xperia is better when the two are side by side.

I say have a look at both in store and see how they perform before ordering it.

I'm so amped for the Samsung but the Sony sounds good too. I guess it comes down to value for money because the Note is priced just under R10k
