I have a colleague which suddenly recieved an error message "E143-4 Home Gateway HNA expired" on his secondary TV during this weekend. He has 2 brand new HD PVRs (not sure whether it is Pace or UEC decoders), single dish with a dual LNB, 2X4 multiswitch and a hearbeat cable in his setup. The PVR in his living room is the primary decoder, and the PVR in his bedroom is the secondary decoder. It is a new setup, having being installed by an accredited installer less than two weeks ago. The call centre just said it must be an installation fault. However, it has been working faultlesly for two weeks, and suddenly over the weekend got this message on the TV in his bedroom.

Any suggestions what to check?

Hi
I had the same issue, DSTV kept telling me its got to do with the master units TV out cable was damaged, thus a heartbeat was not being sent to the Secondary unit.Never got the chance to change cables.
Hope it helps.

The secondary is not receiving the heartbeat.
Thanks, I will tell him to check the hearbeat cable. It just is amazing how something like this just suddenly happens without any real explanation. Working perfect the one moment, and then suddenly just error messages.:wtf:

I just had a chat with my colleague again. His problem is sorted out. He had the installer come out and check the installation, but found nothing wrong. The phoned Multichoice again, the changed something on their side and his Xtraview was active again without any hardware changes.

We had the same error. Was a faulty heartbeat cable.

I get the error occasionally... reboot the master and all is good.

MC had to make this damn setup infinitely more complicated than it actually NEEDED to be.
