Hi guys

Need help, we have a normal SD PVR and want to add an HD PVR 2U/P

What do I need to have to install? What would be an estimate of cost

Thanks

Oliver

Assuming you want to keep decoders next to each other:
2x4 multiswitch - R300
5 short coaxial cables - R75 (less if you want to make them up yourself)

That's it

You currently have 2 cables from the dish to the SDPVR.
Those 2 cables go into the 2x4 multiswitch
2 cables from the multiswitch to the SDPVR
2 cables from the multiswitch to the HDPVR
A cable running between the decoders

You have different options based on what you want to be able to view in different locations. The Xtraview manual on the DSTV forums will give you a good idea

the multiswitches go for around R200-00 on Bidorbuy.

save yourself a lot of headaches and get an accredited installer. its worth the bucks.

I did this exact installation by myself the other day, and it works perfectly, and im 17 :P

Its really easy, and the multiswitch is R200ish at Zakspeed, works 100% :D
Just remember that you have to phone dstv to activate the Xtraview, and also, if you want to up/downgrade from full package to compact then you have to deactivate and reactivate the xtraview everytime.

Same as Chiller89, I did the installation when the world cup was on, I was 16 at the time. It was very easy to do there are even guides on the MC website. And the setup I did included four Tv's with PVRS in seperate rooms. Its very easy to do, believe me
