I am so angry right now I could stab my pc with a screwdriver!!! I asked a dumb question about bluetooth and Yahoo suspended my account and then I appealed but they just told me that they won't reactivate it. Yeah ok, there was some mention of hacking in my question.

But anyway, how do I delete my account so that I can create a new one? And does this mean that I will also lose all my flickr data?

Thanx

Well done Yahoo...

Yeah I guess it does reassure you somewhat that yahoo is quite safe and well moderated. But everyone makes mistakes, and I know I was wrong so I just want to start clean again and try to follow the community guidelines in the future.

What promted them to suspend it?

I used to be on a mail system offering free storage (when storage was a bigger issue). They suddenly started charging for it and closing accounts of those that didn't agree. I lost a lot of my archive.

So the moral of the story is not to rely too much on the free mail accounts. Luckily some have become very big and popular, so they're less likely to change the terms.

Yeah, you're quite right. And BTW I asked the question on Yahoo answers, not via mail or something. Just to be clear.
What did you ask and why should that prompt them to suspend the service.

A lot of people don't realise that the mail hosts try their best to keep you logged in or ask for your login in order to send notes etc, and they do it to track what you do. Yahoo even requires you to sign out TWICE before 'releasing' you from their gaze.

I am sure I am suspended. I asked a question about how to access my phone with bluetooth. I emailed them and they confirmed that I was suspeded for that reason.

All I want to know is how to delete my account and if I am going to lose all my data?

Sorry man... but all your data is lost unless Yahoo re-activates your account and i dont think anyone except Yahoo can delete your account

Time to get a new account with google

They suspended my account as well? I have no idea why and they are not responding to my questions on why or to open it again.

They also would not allow me to open another on? Its not a train smash as I just opened a gmail account and emailed my contacts the new addie.
I would just like to know why they did it?

That place is very large and impersonal. I doubt whether anything will respond quickly.

My question may seem condescending, but you never thought of having a local copy of at least the important emails?

Notwithstanding the fact that your mail provider can suspend you, but do you not think that something can happen to make google or yahoo bankrupt, and with that so goes your information.

I continue to imap external mail servers, and save important data to more than one local copy.
