Have reached Yak's Bend, with default armour, weapons etc.

Monk/Ele character, any reccomendations regarding, how I should allocate my hard earned cash ... ? Preferance is a balanced result, i.e. be able to handle all types of attacks, and not specialize in a single area ...

Thinking back to Prophecies, perhaps save up quite a lot of plat and get a run to Droknar's Forge for some serious armor? Otherwise keep going till you get to Lion's Arch

EISH!! A little Googling shows that Droknar's Forge, is a fair ways from Yak's Bend, Lion's Arch should be do-able me-thinks ...

Will see how thinks develop ...

Thanks,

There is an option to get someone to run you down to drok's. The first campaign of GW does not have the same restrictions that Factions and Nightfall have where certain quests/missions unlock areas of the game. So you can effectively get to many areas without the need of certain quests/missions. Having said that, it is a good thing to play through the game, and Prophecies is an excellent learning curve and introduction.

Anyway, look up "running" on the GW wiki. Yaks Bend does have runners at times passing through to Beacons Pearch (which is the usual point of departure to Drok's). Otherwise, just get to Beacon's and there should be people advertising running (dependent on time of day as well). As I have not been down there a LONG time, I can't say what runner's charge now, and I can't say if people are even still doing the run. Runner's used to charge between 500 gold and 2k per person.

Anyway, people got to Drok's due to getting high level armour without having to play the other missions. Or they would get the armour, and then continue through the game. Anyway, I think playing would be a better option, then taking the short cut... but your choice.

I found the trip from Yak's Bend to Beacon's Perch to Lion's Arch awesome - about 3 levels, bit of loot (chests mainly) and a few quests along the way

I was given 400plat when I started (when Prophecies first hit SA), subsequently that account was hacked, but before it was - I managed to complete the prophecies campaign... I do agree it's worth it getting to Drok's via the story route :)

Talking of loot, I had better start acquiring some at a better rate than I am currently ...

I am going the story line route for now, don't have much in the way of cash to buy my way anywhere, never mind pay for the armour when I get there ... :)

Just made level 14 out of Borlis Pass ...
