I am trying to help somebody that works for me. He had his mobile stolen, and asked me about blocking the device.
A search of the MTN web site reveals a telephone number (173) one can dial and details the steps to block the device. Great.
Call the number ... and not one of the 7 menu options provide the answer, and neither does any of the sub-menus. How do you get to speak to an actual human being?
Obvious thing to do is call a store and pick a brain there ... search the store numbers on their web site ... and discover that the first three numbers I dial do not exist; and all others go unanswered (during business hours).
Fark me.
Eventually find an MTN store that does actually have a working phone and somebody to answer it ... only to discover I have to dial 173 and speak with the person on the other. Explain there is no person at the other end and ... am promised a return call with more information. That never arrives.
Fark me.
So I boldly email the address as spelled out on their Store Locator (seems all Cape MTN-run stores have the same email address) ... and the email bounces back.
Fark me.
I thought this was a communications company, but it turns out its the circus. Two hours of my afternoon spent on the telephone and scouring their out-of-date web site. Nice one MTN ... hope you all get a rash in a bad place.
