Said with as much contempt as I can muster.
Sad. IMO they must drop this charge against her and help her and the other kids. Charge the d#mn parents with neglect / abandonment / abuse . What else could this child have done to survive? Prostitute herself?

Stunned cops have caught a child with a sack of drugs a day before her 12th birthday.
The Cape Town girl was found hiding 81 dagga parcels under her clothes when cops searched her on Friday night.
The skinny girl now faces a drug possession charge.
Police have since discovered the child's mother is in the Eastern Cape and the tiny suspect and her three siblings have been left to fend for themselves.
Police were responding to a tip-off in Philippi-East on Friday evening when they found the girl and the other kids, whose ages range from nine to 14.
The 12-year-old says she is only selling the marijuana parcels to survive.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Nondumiso Paul says cops were shocked when they found the stash in the child's possession.
"Police entered the house after responding to information from the community," said Paul.
"When police searched the one bedroom, they found the girl standing against a wall.
"Police became suspicious and searched the minor and discovered the 81 (parcels) of dagga in a container under the girl's sweater."
Paul said police called social workers to the scene to see to the young suspect and her siblings.
"Social workers were called to assess the girl, including the circumstances, while arresting her for possession."
Sources say while police were gathering personal information, they learnt that the child would celebrate her 12th birthday on Saturday.
Police said they were still trying find the child's mom in the Eastern Cape and could not comment on whether she would also be charged.
"Police interviewed neighbours who revealed the mother had left the 14-year-old to care for her minor siblings," added Paul.
"And we don't know when the mother of the children will be returning home." - Daily Voice
