The track was played in clubs, (hardish house music) I have no idea who performed it, but the track itself was about, or featured the Jonestown Massacre.
It was played (guessing here) between 1995 to 1997.
Male vocals.

No my friend...you're going about this all wrong.

Post...where you heard it & when you heard it (approx is fine).

Post specific lyric fragments if possible rather than stating the theme.

Post a comment on the overall mood of the song.

In addition to the above with ID song threads you need to do more stream of thought and less standard mybb style.

ok, the song was played in clubs like 330 in Dbn & Therapy in Jhb.

the lyrics had constant reference to the rev jim jones & jonestown

that is about all i am able to offer - if i had more info i probably would not be asking here - of course my chemical romance back then in clubs does not help improve the memory :D

If it was playing at 330 & Therapy then it was in all likelihood not house, but rather more hard house or techno, in which case it's gonna be a bitch to identify...

Go look at a compilation like this....

Barthezz's On The Move came out a long time after the time-frame OP is referring to...

Yeah I saw he moved it to 95... that compilation is from 97-99.

Well in that case whoever the DJ is, he's a moron. On The Move was released in 2001. I've still got the record in my vinyl room...

another 1996-ish classic that was remixed to hell and back!!!

Why don't you get SoundHound and sing it? It is correct, more often than not

Probably one of the biggest tunes of that era:

OP, is this the sort of genre we're talking about here or are you referring to the harder stuff...?

Awesome. How about the overly abused, but still incredible Robert Miles - Children?

Stuff that I was listening to then was really hard. I suspect that's what the OP is referring to though, in which case it'll be tough to get this one right. 90s UK hard house I just don't recall the names of...
