BootCamp rocks. Seriously it's like the easiest thing to partition and install Windows. Then the way it includes all the necessary drivers in the Mac OSX DVD - genius. Except that I had a moment of panic when I installed Windows yesterday then I couldn't see my partition, geez I thought I had wiped it out :D. But otherwise props to Apple for creating the most user-friendly partitioning/dual booting app ever.

it is cool, amazing how all drivers can be installed at one time and only one reboot is needed.....

get macdrive for ur windows to see the mac partition.

The only thing I like is that at boot time you hold down 'option' then select your OS... nice way to dual boot but windows on a mac does not rock my world.

I much prefer to have Windows (I reluctantly have to, for the benefit of the "free parental tech support helpline") in a VM. That way I can grow and shrink it's image size as needed. I don't like the idea of dedicating a fixed amount of space to it.

Usually when u have Windows on a Mac it's to use that small set of applications that you can't seem to find a Mac equivelant for, or to perhaps play that latest release game. I don't think you would be aquiring media on the Windows side anyways...
Why would you be worried about having a set partition size?

I'm not such a Mac pimp that I mind devoting some portion of my (employer's) HDD to Windows. I like Mac OSX but it has its shortcomings. Mainly it's rubbish for games and there are tons of Windows apps that won't run on it. But what I appreciate is the effort they clearly put into making BootCamp as foolproof as possible. It's a gem of a program.

I agree with you on this Cerebus, Bootcamp is actually a great gem!

If you are a bit peeved about having to restart your machine everytime when switching between OS's expecially when you are using the Windows part for something quite silly. I am not sure if you are aware that you can load VM and tell the VM to use the bootcamp installation of Windows as the OS the VM should use.

Hm thanks I've never tried VM before, perhaps I'll give it a shot.

Nice to here it went so well, I still haven't tried Windows 7 even after some great advice on the boards. I'm not scared to install it just not sure what I'm going to do once I have it installed besides play A game of COD 4 and not have to pay R700 for the Mac version and see how Windows 7 runs on a decent laptop. On the other hand do I really want to taint my MBP with a Windows 7
