Your Computer Isn't Yours [MacOS]

What I meant was that your kernel logs contain this information on just about any system. You can quickly track when what was launched or killed by which user with a perfect timeline etc.

The information is already there, it's just not being sent anywhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is specifically gathering data in preparation of the Apple Silicon Macs launching, that would actually make a whole lot of sense. It would explain the need for it to bypass VPN's and Firewalls somewhat.
Ahh, gotcha! I thought you tied the exact same behaviour to the other systems, but thank you for clarifying, you're most certainly right on that point.

It's sucks, but it is the world we live in.
If you in the professional industry there is no time to toy around with 'open source'. It is painful and a waste of time.
You realize that the majority of the servers on the internet are open source right?
For desktop use Im not an open source fan but in the server space its the exact opposite.

Can't disagree there.
An IBM quantum computer will be the nextgen servers of the future. The OS will be almost void at that time.
I give it 20 years for quantum to be fully ready.

Just so we're clear, apps on e.g. the M1 can only be installed from the app store. So that would be every app will cause a check to happen.

That's incorrect. Craig specifically mentioned this on the keynote. You're able to download apps "From the App Store and the web" - Maybe check facts first?

It aligns with my hate for Apple, therefore it must be true. No need to venture outside of the echo chamber.

So annoying.

How is this different to Windows 10's App Screening? Or any AV software with an online feature for that matter?

People are ridiculous.

Always fascinating to see how vocal some are not using a product, having limited to no knowledge to add to that.

It is just another computer, use it, don't use it, why develop a hate for it?

This is quite a good article. And based on the supposed data Apple has access to you need to worry more about your ISP.

So for instance if you haven't changed your DNS to something more private rather than using your ISP's DNS servers, "Your internet connection isn't yours" anymore.
