A friend of mine visiting from Namibia is using my iBurst desktop modem. It is connected via Ethernet cable directly to his laptop that runs Win XP.

In the first few days (from 10 Jan until 14 Jan) he was able to access his work email via this site:

http://webmail.unam.na/horde/imp/login.php

But from 15 Jan up until now he is unable to login and keeps getting this error:

"Your INTERNET ADDRESS has changed since the beginning of your Mail session. To protect your security, you must login again."

He has tried using different browsers and he has deleted temp Internet files and cookies, but all was to no avail.

I've had a pretty good day today and do not plan on ruining it - in any shape or form - by calling the iBurps HellDesk about this problem, so if you the reader happen to know how to remedy the situation, please capture your wisdom here.

Hi D

I have found this solution for webmail users.

http://kb.parallels.com/en/737

Hope turning off checkip works.

Cheers

Shaun

Unfortunately the article states that "this modification cannot be configured per user basis and will affect all Webmail users." (But thanks for replying, Shaun!)

Update: My friend managed to log in successfully after clearing all browsing history and related files. Whether he did this on all three his browsers or just on one I do not know...

There is nothing in the HTTP standards that states that you can depend reliably on the source IP of a request for authentication or anything else. The problem has arisen due to non standards based implementation of a web app and not due to any fault of iBurst's ;)
