Slowing down still happens in Win7 as far as I'm concerned. After initial installation with all apps etc it's snot fast but after time it becomes slower just like XP.
Maybe it's time MS scraps it current code base and start with something fresh from the ground up. Legacy apps can then be run via a emulation layer similar to what apple did with Rosetta.
It happens with all software, not just Windows.
The more software apps you install, the more custom fonts, etc gets installed - your pc will eventually become a bit slower. Same for Mac & Linux. Same for your iPhone, same for your Android phone....you get the picture.
