Yes.
The next gen consoles are great and all but are still underpowered compared to gaming pc's. Add to that no proprietary bits like previous consoles(cell and powerpc) and it highlights EA talking out the place they normally do.
 
How about optimising it so our PC's CAN handle it?

And sounds like badly thought out marketing, why would people buy games based on their Ignite 3D engine if they are told by the creators that you won't be able to run it?

They're not saying PC's are slower - just on average their target market (people who play soccer games on their PC) don't have PC's fast enough for the engine.

Makes perfect sense to me and from a business perspective I would make the same decision.

They are. Consoles run with built in upscaling though, which makes things appear better than they are.

Not that there is anything wrong with that. "appear better" is a totally legit strategy for video games.

Whilst a former PC fanboi, EA's comments are actually par for the course- develop for the most substandard of all hardware platforms, at the most substandard level that is passable... I am angry with EA just for the schit they classsify as games...
