I was wondering about this, as I plan on doing the same. Is it safe to have an Ext HDD running 24/7 (as I'm guessing yours is)

I've got almost the same setup but added Sickbeard, sabnzbd, deluged, pyload and no-ip

Got my camera kit arriving this week - going to try and build a remote solar camera.

So who wants UDOO?

The UDOO does not ship to SA just of yet. One would need to use a 3rd party shipping service.

Running mine with sabnzbd, sickbeard and couch potato. Quite happy with its performance so far.

What does everyone think about organising a Raspberry Pi Jam - an event to showcase the uses of raspberry pi, have some talks and to work together on different projects? They've been pretty popular in the UK:

There are much better (more powerful and truly open) alternatives in the same price bracket. Glad I didn't waste my bucks on this over-hyped thing.[/QUOTE]

Could u list the alternates and prices?
Thanks

This is what I want to do when I get mine. Might run a version of Ubuntu or Peppermint as I don't know anything about Arch.

I have OPENelec installed on my pi as it's just being used for media purposes in my home.

I now though have recently started up a DC hub but it's expensive having my main pc running whole day.

Is it at all possible to install and have the DC server on one of the pi's which would not cost much to run whole day.

Any help will be greatly appreciated guys :)

Got mine a few days ago . But first I need to build some security gates for new homes . Looking forward playing around with it

Had some time over the long weekend. Installed Raspbian, SSH, TightVNC, Samba shares (2TB media and backup drive), Deluge, SABnzbd, Sickbeard, miniDLNA. Can't remember what else.

My RPi is now a headless, auto downloading, network streaming media box. :)

I also push backups of some folders on my laptop (that happen on a schedule every week) with a Windows program called Syncback.

Still working out a few minor problems. Such fun though.
