Your Raspberry Pi Projects

I got this working on a Pi2. Used it on a holiday with a portable USB powersupply and a wifi dongle.

Is there software which allows one to cast to your pi from Youtube/Netfilx etc? Preferebly something "small" as I would prefer not to reinstall everything as I have quite a bit of stuff running on my Pi already?

I cast from Youtube on my android devices to Kodi (xbmc). Works quite well.

Netflix is a no. There is a wiki entry on the kodi page explaining why. TLDR: DRM.

Thanks for the feedback. It's a pity though, was hoping I could get away without buying a player.

Isn't there Android for the Pi?

Surely you could use that and the netflix app to watch?

EDIT: Forgot to add details

I got a PLEX server working on a Pi2. Used it headless on a holiday with a portable USB power supply and a wifi dongle.

Ingredients:
1 x RPi 2
1 x Wi-Pi (yes, that's not a typo!)
1 x adafruit case
1 x ROMOSS 10000 mAh power bank
1 x 128 Verbatim SSD
1 x Debian jessie with plex server and network goodies installed.

When I switch it on, the Pi creates a wi-fi access point that I connect to from my tablet/phone/pc/laptop etc. I then browse to the Pi's fixed IP on that wifi with 192.168.0.100:32400/web.

Voila, streaming in the car, on the beach, at the resort etc without any fuss. I took 50 movies and about 7 seasons of different series.

If you want to copy this let me know.

Very cool setup. How long can it run from the power bank?
