Your Raspberry Pi Projects

Because of the scarcity/ horrible prices of RPI boards, I bought one of these to use as a Kodi box.

Did you try a normal USB ir receiver? That's what I used to use before I got my Android media box with BT remote. Worked very well across a few different versions of Kodi / OpenElec / Ubuntu etc. on my Pi over the years.

Also, didn't know Robotics were selling Radaxa products. Thanks for that.
Wonder if they'll bring in these:

That's a good idea, I don't have one but I don't think it would be expensive and would be easy to try.

New Raspberry Pi Pico with WIFI just dropped today, if anyone's interested.
(Edit: Article says they have a pipeline for "10's of millions of units", so at least there should be good availability, if you need a non-ESP based wifi microcontroller for something - well, it's cheaper too I think).

ICASA, freaking ICASA will make it a long delay.

Adafruit and the gang with their own custom Wifi boards at their inflated prices will not be too happy.

Not much we can do about ICASA but Pishop already have "naked" boards listed, so no worries on that score.

Has any one tried out the Pi 400 ? Its the keyboard with a PI built in.

I want to make a small PC for my kid to do school stuff on and this looks nice and portable.

I have one running OMV.

Whats it like ? Any chance my daughter could play some simple games like Roblox or Minecraft ?
There are plenty posts everywhere that explain how to install games on the RPi, but I don't. On Youtube look for leepspvideo as his channel explains everything about the Raspberry Pi, including games.

I think the low RAM is going to be an issue. Also serving DNS requests for multiple clients over wifi is going to be slow.

Rather get a rpi3 or 4
I'm already running it on an old Odroid and Orange PI. Was just curious.
Can give it to me if you're not gonna use it ;)
I already promised it to someone else. Sorry :)

Anyone know which receiver module would work with one of these generic Centurion branded garage remotes?

I want to automate stuff with the inevitable 2 / 3 spare buttons on these.

I might be wrong but I think the code hopping is proprietary so I don't think you would get a generic receiver, but these are not that expensive as far as I remember.

Nice, thanks. I want to see if I can use a relay as a push button on a Pi that fires off an API call to arm or disarm my Reolink camera buzzer while I'm home or going out.
Easily, I have one of those on my gate and it has a relay with NO and NC terminals.

Thanks, any ideas on the number of channels - does a 4 channel unit allow you to automate 4 relays?
No Idea, I think the normal one like the one I have only has one but perhaps Centurion have other options. Give them a ring or pop them an email, they are very helpful.
