Your temu orders

How did you get them to ship a R60 item when most people have a R200 minimum spend?

My most recent order was 15%.
They allow new users to have no limit and once you buy a few times they give you a minimum spend. I have never bought from them and i get free shipping on a R10 item

That must be a new thing as last year it was still minimum 150 for my first order

Last ordered on Temu in 2023. Since the import vat/duty increase thingy, I have not had any motivation to do so, but last week I saw a couple of items that I liked and tested the waters with an item that I paid R60 for, and this morning I received R51.50 import duty & VAT. Is this now the norm or what?
There is no norm, the tax rate is in the air and depends on the products brought in

The couriers seem to charge a minimum fee for clearing each shipment, that's probably the bulk of what the "duties" charge was.
I try avoid small shipments because that is what happens.

There is probably a fixed handling charge included there. It bites hard because of the low value order.

Bought a kids bike from Temu. Instructions were garbage but winged it.

Its pretty decent.

They use pics that show a sd slot but unless it actually states it has one in the description it won't, I learnt that the hard way.

I found the model @satanboy linked to, not much cheaper on Temu vs Takealot but maybe it will go on sale:
the other option is to get a USB endoscope that you use with an app on your phone - then you can record to your phone - much cheaper

Yeah, R30 Skynet flat. Paid yesterday about R232 for a R62x order( R94x order had about R300 credit). The breakdown had duties and tax and service fee. There was a single clothing item worth R180 and the rest was electronics.

Have you seen any on Temu that will work with Apple IOS devices?

Anyone ever bought one of these from Temu for your car?
As usual in SA they are like R5,000 at a minimum... Temu they're under R1,000

Had some phone covers on order to the value of R143. They requested vat & duty to the sum of R270.
Never has it been that high.
