Needed something as a cart filler and I needed a new cap (My AWS one is becoming very faded) so this will fit the bill nicely:

review says its not a fast charger but it has to be better than the local one i bought 5 years ago to charge my Poco F1

and then just because i got excited by this because it attaches to the flip wallet but magnetically so it can split up and detach and obviously attach to wireless chargers magnetically :

and i also got a USB C to USB C PD capable quick charging cable - not gonna link it cos it was only R23 bucks which is generally the tip for a regular food order nowadays

one last disappointing point about my first order was that the frosted case that i was after was the green - but i hadn't clicked on the green and it defaulted to black but it had red side and volume buttons which make it look cheapish which is no surprise ie it was only R71 but i got the better looking flip wallet case with detachable slim magnetic cover in the second order so its still all good and the plan is still coming together, besides it could have been worse ie they could have sent a pink one instead 😉 ..... Oh wait ....... Tablet stand said it was carbon steel and while some of it was steely in texture most of it was just regular old plastic :( again something i can live with for a R250 item

New order expected to arrive between 22nd June and 4th July so around R800 worth of purchases (not including duties and taxes) over 2 orders to add some utility to how my phone works :thumbsup:

okay - this stuff all landed and arrived here and most of the items have one or more related disappointments - some of them my fault and some of them due to the product not being exactly what the website claimed it would be ..... in the first order as i have already stated the minor disappointments were that i ordered the iphone wireless charger and needed to change that to the Samsung one - but they let us keep the iphone charger anyway so it was a win for someone that we will gift iy yo - then the tablet stand was half steel half plastic when they never mentioned plastic at all (just claimed the steel and said this thing will carry 40KG when in reality i will be lucky if it doesn't disintegrate if i put 5KG onto it) - then i only found out now that the bracket for the car wireless charger will not fit in the thickness of my air bents in my vehicle (my fault entirely since i should have noted this - so now i need to mod this thing to work .... which still isn't huge stress since i could probably mod it but these things are so cheap i may just order a new car wireless charger any since this one was only around R71 plus the handling charges and VAT)

so now the second order has arrived and in it i had included a 2-on-1 case that is a folio style book cover with a magnetically detachable smaller case - with my thinking being that i could use the magnetic aspect of the detachable bit on the magnetic wireless charger but the magnet on the smaller side of the case is so weak it doesn't hold onto any wireless charger but the case is otherwise so brilliant for the R160 so i'm still happy with it despite that shortvoming - then the 3-in-1 samsung wireless charger which specifically said it will work with the buds 3 and buds 3 pro .... well i should have checked with samsung because their supplied cases for the buds 3 do not actually do wireless charging!!!!!!! again this was my fault because i checked the charger but not the item i needed to charge - so yep some minor disappointments ie i cant really charge the two items i intended to with the 3-in-1 wireless charger and the case has a weak-ass magnet - and the car wireless charger doesn't fit on the car air vent - but i still only spent under a grand for the entire 2 orders since it included some stuff for someone else - my share of it with both my orders was just a bit more than R750 so i am still happy with the stuff i got ..... though it could have been better if i did more due diligence before ordering ..... live and learn - with this straightforward Chinese no-name-brand stuff it isn't all as it seems on the marketing blurbs

Wait what the buds 3 don't have wireless charge? My buds2 do and it's great

yep - buds 2 have wireless charging but now they removed that facility from the buds 3 case ..... got the buds 3 as part of the black Friday bundle last year so not severely stressed over it - but yep i can charge your ear buds for you with my shiny new wireless charger BUT i can't charge mine :rolleyes: 🙆‍♂️

EDIT : checked online again - now Google is saying that buds 3 do support wireless charging but mine just don't charge from the wireless charger or the phone (reverse wireless charging) - not sure if mine are defective - Reddit was full of posts saying that wireless charging on the buds 3 does not work

2nd Edit : damn - removed the case from the phone and it seems like they do connect for reverse wireless charging after all ..... possibly not working on the charger itself because battery life says 100% so going to run them down a bit and then see if the wireless charging works then

if you guys had a big carried away order on Temu, do you buy on a desktop computer or use the cellphone app? do you split the order, so like 2x R1,500 orders?

or does the above make no difference

R3000 is a big carried away order? Oh, sweet sweet summer child. But getting into your question, the app offers more discounts than the website does. It makes no difference between splitting the order or keeping it as one unless your order is on the high side of R50k in which case I've noticed that customs clearance takes a lot longer.

Twice, I went wild buying home automation equipment and arduino kits that came to just over R52k. Second time was buying lego kits and RC stuff that came to slightly more. Both of those orders sat at customs for more than a week whereas all my lower amount ones have sailed through.

You should try shopping on the US version. I spent almost $7k on a Temu mini-excavator for the farm :X3:
 
I ordered a pair of sneakers from Temu for R162.

Yesterday, I had to pay R76 in customs charges before my order could be delivered.

So basically, from now on, whatever price I pay, I’ll just add 45% as customs tax.

There are clearance fees - if you order for R800 or R100 - you pay the same clearance fees + import duties. A lower valued order will get skewed because of this.
 
R369 tax for R2k order, two bags, another r36s clone, 16" portable monitor and a Android/Apple extender. So lets see
 
Think my last order of R1150 I paid R214 in customs and duties. About half the value was textiles, and the rest some toys and bicycle parts.
