our office printer packed up today, I was wondering what your thoughts of the HP 3020 mulifunction printer, it mainly will be used for printing reams of pastel documents but i need the photocopy capibility of the machine.

I saw incredible DISconnection sells a printer with the same capiblity but BROTHER is a brand i am not familier with would like your guys oppinion on witch one to go for.

By the way, the 3020 series from HP is very good.

Hey.

Well, Brother is not that bad, but support on the product doesn't come close to the HP printers. Brother is a good quality printer, but from a personal perspective, they haven't proved themselves like HP.

I would go for the HP printer, and from that what incredible corruption sells, then I would stick to the HP printer. DON'T go for ANY Lexmark or Samsung printer, as they can't do the heavy printing jobs like an HP.
 
don't go lexmark, they're crap, toner/ink costs more than a new printer for one.
 
Cant you buy from somewhere thats not Incredible Corruption? I once saw them selling FX 5200s for R1000 and power cables cost R60. (Maybe buy new kettle and cable cheaper?). Sure you will find a better deal elsewhere.
 
brother has been around since 1908, true, making sewing machines, but i remember reading that in around 1970 odd they worked with centronics to come up with the parallel port spec and the first dot matrix consumer printers (centronics 101 I think they called it...long long time ago) . As such, I reckon they been making printers since before hp. I know they are bigger in the states than in s.a., but the company, which diversifies into practically any market, has a yearly turnover in excess of 25bil Rand. not exactly small.

that said, buy the hp. else people will call you queer...if nothing at least hp has s.a. cornered on the blind brand loyalty front.

I can buy the HP from Wenshen technology, they are pretty big here in george and offer the best prices, all the other shops here are a bit on the expensive side.

but thanks for your help I will go pick up the Hp later today.
