Your website's speed may affect it's search engine ranking

While it is a very interesting article, it's also a bit scary.


Matt Cutts from Google said website speed could soon a ranking factor. Considering the fact that a lot of websites doesn't load very quickly, I can see how this plays a role.

BUT, what about people who have their hosting in other countries than Google? Will Google take this into consideration?

sure, but this is something that google wants to implement themselves. Remember, every search engine thinks they're the best, and only one used and they don't really care what others do. Google is the default search on Chrome, Firefox and Opera so they already have a controlled market
