Lately I've been getting poor speeds when streaming videos on YouTube. It seems that there is some kind of limit to the speeds I get. (144kb/s) is the max I can achieve. However, I download at normal speeds (700kb/s) from other websites. Is iBurst shaping YouTube? :(

iburst seem to be throttling all inet traffic to about 20Kb/s.

I have noticed this as i use net meter which monitors traffic and perhaps tonight i will post some visual examples of this throttling. At first i thought it was the particular server i was downloading from, but whether i download from Microsoft through to You tube you can see throttling occurring as there are no spikes, or bursts of speed, just a constant stream.

For those of you who used Sentech you will remember they did the same. I think iBurst have over extended themselves and now are throttling to ensure they have adequate bandwidth for their users.

If anyone else has noticed this then perhaps we can build a strong enough case for MyAdsl to create a story about this to expose iBurst.

The dc++ hub guys have got a fix for you. They get "a decent IP" by disconnecting and reconnecting iburst a few times. I've tried this with youtube and it works beautifully.
