YouTube is now tracking your individual and ISP performance for watching YouTube videos! I feel this can be a great comparison tool for us to see which providers offer the best streaming performance. Obviously there are other factors outside of ISP that will influence this (exchange, line quality, line speed) but may prove insightful for comparing the same line speeds against different ISPs.

How To Check Your Speed:
Step 1a: Go to http://www.youtube.com/my_speed
Step 1b: Alternatively, you can load a YouTube video, right click the video, and select "Take speed test.""
Step 2: Right click the graph that shows your own and ISP performance and copy the image link (in some browsers you may need to open the image in new tab/page to view).
Step 3: Insert this image - place the URL between these tags:
Example:
I][B]

Step 4: Provide the following information:
Internet Service Provider (ISP):
Speed of connection w/ ISP:
Speed of line (if different than ISP speed):
Type of account: e.g. Business, Uncapped, Capped, etc.
Personal internet speed achieved: e.g. 1.07 Mbps
Personal ISP speed achieved: e.g. 1.38 Mbps

My results:
chart

Internet Service Provider (ISP): MWEB
Speed of connection w/ ISP: 4/10Mbit Telkom
Speed of line (if different than ISP speed): 4Mbit
Type of account: e.g. Uncapped

Note: Because my performance has been so slow lately, I haven't used YouTube within the time period it measures it enough. My flatmate did show 1.07Mbps average for his usage though. I did find that the ISP average was incredibly lower than I expected, though.

Let's see how all of you guys fare!

chart

edit: actually just stopped completely now

Also if you are prepared to watch in 240p then fine, the moment you increase the quality or dare go 720 or 1080 it just stalls.

Elriconess: It is new, so perhaps there's a few power users there who've completely ruined the average? I say give it time. I still think this could be an interesting metric for speed comparison in real-world usage (and not a speed checking site).

Sneeky: It takes an average of your speed, not immediate rate. You'll note on the page the chart is visible it says "Video Speed Comparison (Apr 27, 2013 to May 26, 2013)".

I think it it's the Universities ruining it for all, lol! Most young people I know access the internet from University.
