YouTube is to broadcast all 60 games of the forthcoming Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket competition, from March 12 to April 25.

This is the result of a deal struck between the IPL and internet giant Google.

Viewers will be able to watch for free the live action, as well as special packages.

"We are thrilled to have the IPL as our global partner and bring to the YouTube community around the world and here in India an interactive, unique experience building greater awareness around the world for the sport," Shailesh Rao, a representative of Google, said in a statement on the IPL website.

IPL boss Lalit Modi said the new dedicated IPL channel "would be the biggest virtual stadium in the world"

Any idea how much bandwidth to watch one 20/20 game ?

I would say about 180mb an hour maybe 200mb.

Not bad but at that rate depending on what internet you have having dstv would work out cheaper in roughly 8-9 games.

That though is worked on that tiny youtube box and not something bigger and better quality.

India has not yet broadcasted anything in HD (Which also means SA tour to India will be in SD). So watching it on SuperSport will be good enough. R500/60 = R8.30 per match

You sure about that?? I remember the IPL brought their own hd cameras for the event in SA last year. Also Mr. Modi today announced the IPL will be the first event to be broadcast under the new 3d tv technology.
