You have failed in the Western Cape, ANC leader Jacob Zuma told members of the party's provincial general council at a meeting in Cape Town on Sunday.

"Comrades in the Western Cape have failed over the period, and no-one can argue that you have not," he told the council members, who had gathered from branches across the province to thrash out a way forward following their defeat at the polls in April this year.

Zuma said this failure was the reason the national ANC had appointed a team "in a very deliberate manner" to manage the province.

Its members were not there as friends, but to solve problems.

"We did not want to have people [on the team] who were friends of others. We wanted a team that must work... This time we want to take the Western Cape out of difficulty."

what? the ANC is starting to see the light about their organizational structure which is based on nepotism and cronyism?

Service delivery is a symptom of their failed structure, at least he's identified (maybe unknowingly) that, but I'm sure he'll never state it using the opositions words.

Agreed, possession and the fat piggies around the trough they've lost.

Maybe if the Anc were to stick to the basics of trying to govern the country as they were elected to do instead of trying to rule the country like privileged aristocrats the party in the Western Cape wouldn't be in such a mess.
 
The problem with the ANC, is that they only look after the ANC. There are no separation between government and the ANC's objectives. They don't do anything for South Africa.
 
You're right their goal to win back the Western Cape say's it all. The failure of the anc in the Western Cape shouldn't be looked at in isolation because it reflects the political party as a whole.
 
The problem with ANC, is that friends of friends of friends is what comprises most of the positions... Probably goes something like this "Eish wena I is having a choma who was a manager of chicken licken in diepsloot he was fired for stealing the chicken but I think he has more than enough expeirence to be a minister of agriculture becuase eish he werked with food you see"...
 
It seems this country also has a new enemy - the ANC.

Frankly I no longer think we're exempt of going the way of Zim & other failed African states. They will suck the economy dry, either through their incompetence or their greed.

After all big-Z said so himself.
