z5500 who has them? help needed...

Hey

I have z5500. Need someone to test theirs to ensure that my unit is indeed faulty. This is whats happening with mine.

If the unit is off with headphones plugged into the console unit and then you switch the unit on the console comes on but is frozen even if you remove the headphones. Also no sound comes through the headphones or the speakers. I have to unplug the headphones. Switch the unit off and then on again to make the system work.

If you have z5500 please can you recreate my incident to see if its just my unit or its a universal thing.

My z5500 are still under warranty so if it is my unit that is faulty they will hopefully repair it and not replace it with the z906 which are apparently inferior to the titan that is the z5500
 
Lets hope they send me a new console unit. What have you guys heard about the z906 vs z5500?
 
Same problem if you use the remote or the switch to switch it off ??
I have the same speakers but never used head phones and dont have any head phones.
Have you tried different head phones ??
 
I have the z906.I have seen z5500 myself

The z906 is for my easy to operate, don't really need the LCD panel.But the z906 has a smaller sub and u can hear the difference but the 5.1 sound is better in my opinion. O and there is this force 5.1 sound to ... I don't really like it
 
Logitech will send a new set as far as I can remember, but they will ask for the old controller so that the faulty set is worth nothing (also its pointless for them to pay for shipping on a heavy sub).
From what I've read and heard, the 5500 is better for movies, while the 906 is better for games and music.

Just to add to this, I don't think they make the Z5500 anymore.They will probably send u the z906.

Can be wrong :(
 
Well lets hope they send a new console unit. Otherwise what have you guys heard about the z906s? From most of the comparisons between these two they all basically come to the conclusion that the z5500 was the last of the titans?
 
Z906 are fine dude I have no complaints, like I said its only a smaller sub
 
They can but it does not come with a mount u will need to make your own, I took a roll-bolt and mounted mine
 
So i went back to IC they said they couldnt perform a swop out as the z5500 are discontinued and they offered a refund but i didnt want that so i fo7nd logitech direct on their tollfree number and 5 days later UPS rock up with another control pod. Super excited i plug it in and to my dismay same problem.

So i have uploaded a video showing the procedure that i follow so that you can try reenact it and let me know what yours does
