Me and the wife want to go for a few days, which one is nice. Snorkel and eat and site seeing.

Mauritius, Zanzibar is a bit cheaper but Mauritius is worth it.

Snorkeling is good in Zanzibar but site seeing is meh and requires a guide. Kind of place you go to and just stay in your resort. Burgers and beer about the highlight of foods. A tour through the city market may put you off eating entirely.

What's the cost and difference in price to do either?
What about going to Morocco, very cool country to visit.

Mauritius definitely. Zanzibar is nice if you just want to go and plonk in an all inclusive resort but as many have said above, outside the resort is dodgy as hell

north west coast of zanzibar has amazing beaches with 28 C water and its clear and shallow, i've been to nungwi and kendwa (3x to znz) - booze cruises on local made boats, its fun - but you won't even find a panado there if you are in need, and it's humid AF. interesting place but outside the hotel it's very much third world. snorkeling at remote islands and having braaid freshly caught tuna on the beach etc. are things you can expect here.

i've been to grand baie in mauritius and it's a lot more first world than zanzibar, you will have your creature comforts like decent internet and proper grocery / fast food / pharmacy etc amenities - it feels a lot more like ZA outside of the hotel in terms of facilities, not dangerous to walk around (at least in grand baie), not as hot and at least when i went (roughly this time of year) the sea is much colder than znz.
