Are there any Zend Certified developers on this forum?

I would like to know where you did your certification and roughly how much it cost.

Thanks

Out of curiosity... what's the benefit of a Zend certification? Seems a simple enough framework to get used to.

EDIT: Actually, come to think of it... i've met some pretty crap devs using Zend... and if they'd rather hired zend devs with certification, things may have been different as they'd know the toolset a little better. I think I just answered my own question.

I have done my ZCE, did it in London. Just bought a voucher, booked the exam and went and did it. The biggest benefit of a ZCE is the separation from the masses. It does not mean you are a senior or a mid level, what it does mean as you know your a$s from you elbow. You are more likely going to get asked for an interview it you have one.

Ah thanks James, I'm hoping to find somewhere local that will be able to do the exam. I will post back here if I do find some place.

@shogun, I have noticed a few good jobs that have marked having a Zend Certification as advantageous...So yeah it might not mean that I have to have one, but it could make me a bit more favourable than the average Joe.

Agreed totally. I think go for it. After a little thinking, I realised how different it could have turned out (in a positive way) for a friend that hired a zend developer that didn't know what they were doing. If they'd hired someone with a cert, they might have at least been assured they knew a certain amount.

There are two different certifications, PHP and the actual Zend Framework, as far as I know.

It's pretty easy,
Browse to zend and and create an user account if you don't already have one.
Then browse to Pearsinvue to locate a couple of testing centers near you. Then just create an account there as well and follow the on screen instructions.

You should be able to find the study guides on Kalahari.net or just do a google search.
I did my test around 1.5 years ago and the total cost was R700 - R750 for the PHP certification.
The Zend Framework Certification is around R1500.

Good Luck
