Hi Guys,

As an Afrihost client I decided to take up their offer of a reasonable priced smart phone for my 14 year old son , the Zest I. He was impressed with it when he first got it but now is very dissatisfied. He has hardly got much on the phone in the way of apps and music as well as photo's. He often has to delete certain apps in order to download a game he wants when he gets the error message: insufficient storage. I have tried clearing the cache but to no avail. I have never had an android phone myself so of course have never experienced this.

He will bring the phone to me expecting me to do something about it which I am not able to do.At face value it appears to have sufficient storage but when he wants to download a new game the error message appears.

On principle I will not spend 6 or 7k on a phone for kid for it to be lost or stolen hence I thought the Afrihost Zest 1 would be a viable option. I am so frustrated with it now it is about to go under the wheels of the next 4x4 I come across. Please help !!'

That "/data" folder is what causes the insignificant space issue.

A bit too long to find anything useful on a specific issue :-)

Any ideas on this? My dad's phone is apparently doing the same thing, and he has applied the repartioning patch.

After the patch what happened?

Hey Guys,

I am still stuck , I have partitioned my memory card after downloading mini tool. I then went to the Google Play Store and downloaded Link2SD. When I selected ext 2 I got this error message. I get the following error message : mount script cannot be created and not allowd to su . Please Help !!!

su = Super User which means you need to have rooted the device!

Welcome.

Root the phone get link2sd

Thanks for the heads up Thor -

Any suggestions to root the Zest T1? I have tried "[ROOT/GUIDE] Zest T1-G46 - by ka13b @XDA" but I fail to link my phone to Win7 due to driver failure. Any suggestions?

Flashed the memory partion ok, and all else is well.

The drivers supplied by Zest for the memory partition don't help any - these are probably APK specific?

Try kingo root as a last resort

Howdy Thor

Incredibly - I have to say no. Why? I still can't find sufficient drivers to link the T1 to my W7 PC!

I have tried finding out who assembled this device - to maybe get it direct. The Zest driver set supplied for the Memory rewrite seems only to work for that SDK/APK.

And I am amazed not to be able to find a basic driver for Adroid that will let my PC see the device.

So still looking - I have reverted back to my Xtreamer JoyZ for now.
