I received a call today from a friend who asked me if I could help with information on exchanging some Zim notes to US currency and I was sent a link to the French site Le Figaro which discussed the topic. I googled the same info and came across the Bloomberg site with the same information but just browsing it, I see no mention of american's exchanging money at their own banks this side.

Anyone seen this type of article that side?

What issues could she encounter going to an American bank?

Isn't the exchange rate something like 1usd to 35 quadrillion Zim dollars?

When you need to hire a truck to convert enough money to buy a coffee from Starbucks it becomes a bit impractical.

According to xe.com 1 USD is 362 Zim Dollars. Much better than Somali Shilling which is currently going for 695 somali shillings to 1 USD :)

I did not ask where they got the currency and not sure they fully understand what they dealing with when a wheelbarrow of money could hardly get you a loaf of bread over there but hey they think they gonna make something. I did suggest ebay to maybe get more then what they hope to get from a bank.

it will be worth more as a novelty than it ever will be as currency

That's what I thought too but we know some people see trillions and zillions of dollar notes and hope to make something on it.
