Is it just me or is the similarities between what happened in Rwanda in 1994 and what is happening in Zim today scary? I mean really. Are we going to sit still and wait for thousands to be killed before we start reacting? Why is our government quiet on the issue? Even the American ambassador to Zim said the human rights abuses and violence is at unaceptable levels.
Now look at the current state of affairs in our country. Anyone who says this in not linked to people flocking here for refuge must be blind or a parlementarian. The spill over is happening and im very sorry to say, if our government does not act immediately, we are in serious trouble. The police, after ONE month of border duty, confirmed they were not able to cope and they are way understaffed to patrol our borders effectively. This crisis from within our borders, will continue to spiral out of control unless we stem the flow of illegals into our country.
Bring in the SANDF back into the picture with border patrolls and use them, as we were used in 1994, to stem this unlawfullnes and senseless killings in the Townships. The violence there, will in turn have a spillover effect into the residential areas, and then it will be harder to contain. The next obvious question is, how long will it take before the masses turn on their own, to serve out mob justice and to eradicate what they perceive as inequality or unfair distribution of land\wealth?
