Rather I mean, if you have unlocked more than one forge you should always be crafting a splinter in one of them. If you only have one, then craft whatever will get you the biggest damage boost. Main aim is to get 59 pearl necklaces. Second aim is to get as many crests as possible.

Always have a splinter of either type going. Main aim is to get to the necklaces so that you can have permanent sloth form. It's about the biggest damage boost in the game and it lets you clear worlds much, much faster. Plus it helps hugely with the special events where items are dropped from the houses destroyed.
 
Big update again today, going to add a lot to progress. Death medals and additional levels to hell buildings.
 
When I loaded the game it showed v.28 and it has the new patch notes, but I don't see anything different at all.
No new levels for hell buildings, no new medals.
Maybe they deployed the patch without actually deploying the patch?
 
OK had to do a force refresh of page (ALT+F5). Seems to be loading the new version now.

I had the same, had to clear my actual browser cache and use a portal to get it to load properly.

If you are playing with a local save I'd suggest backing up your save before clearing cache.

Ghosts can be crafted into prisms, takes 81 ghosts to get 1 prism. Combine 1 prism with 2 shards to get a 6x mega shard.

Get 59 necklaces and your sloth skill (The asteroids crashing down) last exactly 5 minutes so you can have it up permanently.
 
Update has given me a huge boost. Think it's mostly due to the new death medals.
Was stalling at around 1750 to 1800, now i get to 2000+
Grinding my way to 500 million orbs so I can get the last death medal bonus of 2x orb drops.

That's why pearl necklaces are your friend.
I can clear world 1 to world 3 in under 10 minutes with sloth form and the -5 houses per level devil deal.
 
The update is crazy, I should possibly get 5m orbs a reset now, busy with a run through to see exactly.
