Hi guys

Got the following problem.

I have created a hardware VPN on my router so i can access my file's from anyware if i travel. Now the problem is Zone Alarm, if the firewall is enabled I cannot connect to that computer which is normal, but i cant find any settings that i can change in Zone Alarm so it doesn't block the connection.

Any help would appreciated......

FYI, Zone Alarm (for me at least) is a b1tch to configure. I would rather use Sygate. It's free and very powerful. And it is very easy to configure.

It also blocks per program (or you could opt for IP and port), this makes my life easier as I don't have to open port x to play game y online, rather just tell Sygate (when it asks) to allow game y through on port x.

I'm using Zonealarm as well, and it's a b1tch to configure...

your safest bet is Sygate, at least it's rules are easy to configure. Better get the pro version tho... ;)

In Zone Alarm, click the Firewall tab on the left. Then the Main tab at the top. Then select the Advanced button. Are you currently allowing VPN protocols? Also, what is your network behind the router classified as? Internet or trusted?

Just checking, is this on the free zone alarm? Sorry cant go into it now my laptop is at work with zone alarm installed and cant check it.

I use the Pro version. The free version does not allow ICS and is very restricted. I dont know if the VPN setting is available in that version.
