...they've bloodywell done it AGAIN! I tried my usually well behaved Internet Exploder "favorite" to get to the Zone Locator only to find it no longer worked. Upon trying from the main Sentech site I ran into THIS new piece of offensiveness: see http://www.spcn.co.za/bdt/zoneloc_reg_form.pdf for screenshot -which, given their track record with people's data (among other *cough* open proxy *cough*)things is something I'm REALLY not keen on sacrificing my personal data to, LEAST of all my ID number! ..AND on a site with no sign of any kind of security (eg a la banking).

Which leaves me with a problem, (so far) I use this site pretty extensively in my work but I'm far too leery of these nimrods' ability to hold onto data to give mine up. Also, notwithstanding that this *is* their site and they're within their rights deciding who they let play with their toys: being a big organisation and all, can they reasonably be allowed to get away with something this sloppy or is there some kind of regulatory stick we can bring to bear to ..ahh.. "encourage" them to do this more professionally?

*grumble*

Register under a throwaway email address, post authorisation details on bugmenot.com, and share the joy? I wouldn't give my ID number to these plonkers either.

You can enter two digits for the ID/Passport number, such as "32" and it will gladly accept it.
