Here we stand, yet another dialup, I hang my head in shame and admit telkom has their fingers in my abode yet again....
I finally gave up on 3G and GPRS connections, to much downtime on our towers here in the middle of nowhere and buggerall.
just something interesting I pulled off my d-link router
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 10368 1072
Rate (Kbps): 384 128
I like those attainable rates !!!!
Let me tell you guys I LOVE this !!!! AXXESS is probably the best thing since sliced cheese, I have set up my wifes and my laptop on the d-link router and typical if you have the speed you will suck bandwidth. I hit the 1 gig cap very quickly.
set the wifes laptop up for PPPOE broadband dial up axxess (win XP box) and left mine on local. interestingly enough Ubuntu upgrades on local cap an installs with synaptic on local. 10 gig is a good playground !!!!
on 6.5 gig local.
what I love is the cap, I hit 1.65 gig before they capped me. in cost thats about R200 saving from gprs/3G/hsdpa from vodacom. 650 meg free...
