Hi All,

Am just reaching here for help with my stepmother's car, a Zotye Nomad, I believe a ripoff of the Daihatsu Terios. I say this as it uses the same brakepads as the Terios when we replaced those last year.

However, now the clutch has packed up, and while Midas and co. are on the hunt for a kit, thought I would post here. Have even asked around at a few scrapyards without luck.

Does anyone know, besides probably China, where I can find a clutch kit for this car? Any help would be much appreciated.

If the clutch has packed up, take it out and have a look at the part numbers and do a search on that, to find the right one..

Which one is it? 1.3 or 1.5? The Zotye uses a Mitsubishi engine that is very similar to the one used in a Toyota, it is the same engine used in the GWM Florid.

Best thing would be to take the clutch out, go to the spares shop and ask for a comparison to the GWM clutch for the 1.3 or 1.5.

Another option is to have the linings redone on the old clutch plate. But first try and find a new kit at a reasonable price.

This is what we eventually did, they eventually rebuilt the thing, as we couldn't find a clutch kit at ANY price. I did find one on Alibaba, about $200 incl. shipping (shipping more than the damn clutch kit), will keep that in mind for future reference. Might order it anyway as a spare.

Do they really rebuild it or just build a new one that's identical in dimensions?

and here is always my question, buying a Chinese car, is it worth it?
if its a copy of a well known car brand, yeah maybe,

but if its some weird bastard from 10 different manufacturers, maybe now you know why its cheap.

Lol, indeed. I didn't buy this car, and I wouldn't, but some people have their own ideas, so yeah.
