Question for the likes of Werries and other end games how does ZA compare to Kara.

Or asked another way if one is on the later bosses in Kara would one be ok in ZA.

ZA = kara on steroids, only with a 3day CD

especially due to the timed events, Bearboss is fun, when u got 20min, Eagle boss is just a pain when uve also got 20min =/

ZA is supposed to b in between Kara and SSC/TK in terms of gear rewards

tbh its quite boring, so much trash, each boss is refreshingly challenging and requires sooo much focus

ZA is alot harder than kara, the first boss being as strong as Nightbane, if not stronger

OK well we cleared ZA the weekend. Spent two nights on it, and cleared it from top to bottom. The trash is way less than Kara, I would recommend you go in there with at least kara gear, but its not the end if your entire raid force dont have full epix. We even killed the first boss within the given time period for the speed run quest.

All of the bosses are pretty easy, with the exception of the last 2. The Hex dude, (second last boss) is a real pain in the butt. And the last boss is a lot of fun !

Very nice instance, but sadly if you have Tier 5 gear / SSC / TK gear ... then nothing in there is really worth your while, apart from the drops from the last boss.

I agree, the only item in rly after is the Trollbane axe from the first timed event... Other than that, ill stick with ssc/tk acquired gear

I took a group in there on Wednesday to see what the hype is all about. We found the instance refreshingly new! The trash need some thinking and you need a well diverse group to beat them (though they are prob not that hard for a well epiced raid). Bosses are still exciting and new :D, but guess this will water down with time. I would recomend though that your tank is well geared, and you have a good off tank! The rest of the group can be really mixed with 2.5 healers. Bos fights are a bit longer than Kara bos fights so healers and other mana users should be prepared to chain mana potions (note this if you dont have over 11k mana :P )

Get a group togther and try this, do it for the fun. But with the heroic badge (22 from a full kara clear) increase in game, nice epic gear can be get cheap now. ZA (first 4 bosses) should be possible with a mix of kara and crafted gear though (excluding tanks, that need real good gear).

I was linked drops from 1st and 2nd boss...nothing spectacular

Thanks guys. Think we will get some of the new heroic badge gear to supplement gear in some areas and then give it a crack can only wipe:rolleyes:

ZA is not really endgame imo, however to answer your question! It is a fun instance slightly more challenging than Karazhan, most likely Kara guilds will struggle with the additional mobility required which Kara lacks with mostly tank & spank fights. That said a guild clearing kara weekly could clear ZA in a week max provided they are not lazy and actually bother Potting/Flasking etc.

Overall its still very easy and the loot is actually exceptional for the effort required to clear ZA. Some pieces are better than Tier 5 and even compare to Tier 6 although stats have a different focus to Tier pieces. Warriors for example may take the Helm from Hex Lord instead of their Tier.

We poped into ZA on wednesday night after it opened at about 9pm and had downed Zul'jin by Midnight, only boss that may take some learning is the fire dude. Hex Lord may break guilds with poor healing but that can be overcome with some shadow resist gear. (150SR would cut it). Zul'jin himself is really easy although phase 3 can be annoying.

does better lewt drop the faster u do it?

There is some extra loot if you can reach some bosses on the timers, the extra loot is actualy worth it :D some nice weapons etc. Have a look on wowwiki for the loot breakdown...

I enjoyed the new encounters and fresh atmoshpere but the loot is dam dissapointing!

As a mage the Hood of Hexing form ZA is a LOT better than the head that drops off Voidy (Cowl of the Grand Engineer) and anything else i've come across in SSC/TK. It's allows for much more reworking of gems giving a very nice increase in damage. I cant wait to get it, I just battle to find enough people to go. There's no other head in SSC or TK that compares. The sword for mages is also pretty good but what ZA is more about is haste... There aren't any items with haste on them in SSC/TK and it's also a nice intro to what haste can do for you before the items from MH and BT. I'd rate some drops as being far better than SSC/TK.

Or maybe the different blades have different uses for different occasions? Some people actually switch gear mate.

In 2.5 Locks can Dual Wield

I wish :P
Both of those 1-hands are an upgrade for me so I'll take which ever one I get first. I won't pass on wub's cursed hexblade just because I hope blade of twisted vision drops at a later stage.

And yeah, I do like swapping out my gear depending on the situation.

Eaglehawk and Hexlord have two drops i want. The healer shield is the best in the game, and the pauldrons are about t5 but look pretty cool. I've got the headpiece from eagle boss, and with the leggings, chest and glove resto badge rewards combined with shield and leggings, you can make a 'set' that looks very 'shammy'/tribal. Mostly i just want it all for the RP/look actor, although the stats are not bad at all.

Overall I think the first couple bosses are pretty easy, but the last few can be be a real pita. We're still stuck on Dragonhawk for eg. Everything seems to go wrong for us whenever we try it, but lynx/bear/eagle are ezmode.

Ito gearchecks though, i wouldnt realisticly zone in there unless your guild is capable of downing Prince and Nightbane without issues.

Of course the REAL reason to do ZA is for the bear mount. WTB!!1
