Zuma allies get top posts in setback for Ramaphosa

Really!?!?!
Is it just this country where this is allowed to happen? Seriously, does this happen elsewhere?
Ace's meeting was canceled last week, and yet this week there is a "collective decision"?

Barring the finance and budget appropriations committee they aren't really top posts...

They wanted faith on the justice committee so we dodged a massive bullet there.

Who got SCOPA and Chair of chairs?

It's not a setback for Cyril.
He was JZ's number two, they are playing musical chairs as they always have.
They are the ANC, they are all allies.
Factions are simply there to appease more of the voter base than would otherwise have been possible.

As much as I want to disagree with you from an optimistic viewpoint, I fear you are right. We tend to forget who the co-pilots were whilst JZ and company were on their trough feeding spree. Unfortunate as it may be, the New Dawn will not rise whilst anyone at the ANC is in control of the policies of this country.

SCOPA is IFP...

Chair of Chairs is Cedric Frolick
Funny that someone who is pleasantly tied with the Watsons is now head of the SCOPA...the very institution that will decide the fate of those that transgress the PFMA is also captured by Zuma loyalists.

Nah, seems that Mkhuleko Hlengwa is going to be head of SCOPA, if the rumours are true.

Cedric is merely Chair of Chairs.

so much for rooting out corruption, as was promised and campaigned about and rallies held.

all part of the long game - part of the process
all implicated in the final SC commission report will force to do the "right" thing - in the same vein what Nene had to do.
long game = setting up + patience

Cyril better hope he’s still in charge of the ANC by the time all that reaches fruition. He’s only got 3.5 years left in his current term as ANC president. It sounds like a lot but it isn’t when you consider the process will involve commissions, then prosecutions, then convictions, then appeals, then plea bargains, then repeat in a higher court.

Finally someone who gets it. They are ALL the same!!!!! It doesnt matter who is in what position.

When you want to do things right, effectively...it does take time. If you have an understanding of the process...see the bigger picture..., you do not get dragged in by every episode of the process...tons of ebbing and flowing ahead...but in general the tide is heading in the right direction.

The one thing that I'm clinging to for hope is that Cyril has bolstered the NPA and basically made the Scorpions 2.0 - he's building a big dog that when he lets off the leash, will be able to bite hard.... I HOPE!!

We've been trying to get Zuma the “right” way since 2005, from the Mbeki days. It’s not always effective, and it doesn’t account for the fact that political power shifts.

Spot on, centre of power dictates the flow/tone...hence Zuma could not be dislodged...helped immensely by Polokwane electing , all of his bottom of the barrel feeders, enablers. Like indicated before, it's a process...
