Zuma could rule from prison if found guilty: ANCYL
May 24, 2008, 20:00
The ANC Youth League says even if ANC president Jacob Zuma is found guilty after his corruption trial, he will still become the next president while in prison.
ANC Youth League president Julius Malema was speaking at the 86th anniversary of the Young Communist League in Rustenburg in the North West. Malema says they are committed to defending the president of the ANC and are not prepared to accept any outcome which seeks to put him in jail. Malema says this will be unfair to him and the people of South Africa.
He says Zuma has been subjected to many wrong things and actually he has been in prison for more than eight years because he has been investigated for almost eight years and that on its own is an imprisonment.
