President Jacob Zuma has completed his official state visit. I wont go into the details, u may c the article below. What is significant to me are some of the following thoughts:

1) JZ was in BUCKingham Palace
2) Thabo Mbeki was not
3) Pres. Zuma is the 3rd South African president, elected democratically, to take such a visit
4) Was Helen Zille, like Thabo, a tad bit envious of the Pres?
5) Wow, things have changed for SA when a member of the Zulu's chills with the Queen

:D

President Jacob Zuma concluded his three-day state visit to the United Kingdom on Friday.

Vincent Magwenya, a presidential spokesman, said Zuma had concluded his visit with an address to the SA-UK Business Seminar.

"The South African business delegation, with more than 200 business leaders, is the largest business delegation on such a visit," said Magwenya.

"This underlines the importance of trade and investment ties between the two countries, and indicates the amount of interest among both British and South African companies in exploring opportunities for co-operation."

Zuma began the final day of the visit with a meeting with Lord Mandelson, the UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.

I must admit politics are really not my thing, but the poor still seem poor and Zuma looks pretty fat and prosperous.

it's the sickening reality of south african politics...the overwhelming amount of over-weight politicians, but we're a buxom people

Only in words jimmy, only in words. Look at the palace he is building with the poor's money.

You guys are so gullible:p

politicians have to take adv of state resources, otherwise they would be abnormal...

In other words, steal while you can! Zuma is known for that trait!

Wonder if he brought the Africa chess set back! :D :D :D

Sorry jimmyj, you need to brush up on your recent History.... Thabo did go to Buckingham palace during his state visit in 2001. Yes he didn't stay in Buckingham Palace like Zuma, instead he stayed in Windsor Castle which is arguably more important than Buckingham since Windsor is the a considerably OLDER castle, and is the largest inhabited castle in the World.. as well as being the principal weekend retreat of the Queen.
Oh and btw, even Zuma is so forgettable that the PR engine of Buckingham palace got it wrong and called him the Prime Minister of India. Pretty sure the Indians wouldn't want him able to screw their country up as well.

3) Pres. Zuma is the 3rd South African president, elected democratically, to take such a visit
Completely irrelevant statement to make regarding his state visit. Is 3rd time the charm for Britain to realise that the ANC are useless?

4) Was Helen Zille, like Thabo, a tad bit envious of the Pres?
On what do you base this opinion?

5) Wow, things have changed for SA when a member of the Zulu's chills with the Queen
He did NOT visit the United Kingdom as a member of the Zulu's, he visited it as the President of South Africa, and don't for ONE second think he "chilled" with the Queen.

I would have liked to "hear" her thoughts looking at the well...bafoon! or when he "advised" the queen what the British should do about Sir MadBoB Mugabe!
