With all the hullabaloo about the defacing of The Spear, Wednesday’s two most important stories went by almost unnoticed.
In parliament on Tuesday, the president of South Africa stated that he sees nothing wrong with politicians getting state tenders.
These were his words:
To exclude firms with political connections would surely mean “discriminating simply because they are politicians… I don’t understand”. There was nothing in the constitution that proscribed this, he said.
“I want to be a business person (so) I establish a company and read the rules of what happens if you do business. (You) make a presentation, if your presentation is successful why should you say because you are a politician, (they) don’t allow you (to do business with the government).”
Yes, you do not understand Mr President. It is called conflict of interest. For government to do business with politicans of the ruling party is called corruption.
It is your very own admission that you saw nothing wrong with taking kickbacks from the arms deal.
You have convicted yourself in parliament. You do not need your day in court.
The other very important story of the day came from Ayanda Mabulu himself:
The black artist who painted Zuma nakedly two years before Murray, had the following to say (quoted from The Star):
"[The ANC] are dark and illiterate. They must go back to school and come back tomorrow."
He (Ayanda Mabulu) said art knew no colour or race as it spoke a universal language.
Mabulu himself painted Zuma with his penis showing in 2010. The painting Ngcono ihlwempu kunesibhanxo sesityebi (Better Poor than a Rich Puppet) features Zuma and seven other world leaders such as Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, and Desmond Tutu. Tutu is naked in the painting.
In the painting Zuma's penis is supported by a crutch, a metaphor, according to Mabulu, showing Zuma's sexual escapades were out of control and needed help, The Star reported. “ (http://www.news24.com/MyNews24/Zuma-and-the-genius-of-Mabulus-picture-20120523)
This is the Zuma of the ANC. This is the man that could be South Africa’s president for another term. A man who admits that he does not understand the concept of corruption. A man who has no respect for women and children.
To be married to 4 women at a time, is to say to each one of them: Not one of you are good enough for me. To have 22 children says, you do not need my personal attention and love. Your mothers are cows and you are cattle.
It is time for Zuma to go.
