President Jacob has signed a proclamation directing the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to investigate alleged irregularities in the affairs of the South African Post Office (Sapo), the presidency said on Tuesday.

Zuma signed the proclamation directing the SIU to investigate "serious maladministration in connection with the affairs of Sapo, improper or unlawful conduct by the officials of Sapo and unlawful appropriation or expenditure of public money", said spokesperson Mac Maharaj.

Other allegations to be investigated by the SIU included irregularities, malpractice or maladministration in the affairs of Sapo in relation to management of immovable property, intentional or negligent loss of public money, damage to public property, management of immovable property, the implementation of the WebRipost point-of-sale system and loans granted to Courier and Freight Group.

"The SIU will further investigate allegations of irregularities relating to the recruitment, selection and appointment of officials or employees of the Sapo as well as payments which were made by the Sapo to fictitious officials or employees," Maharaj said. – Sapa

Here we go . . .

Why does he not just sign off on a overall government probe seeing as he is so against corruption.

In that way they can start at one point and clean all departments out.

Guess hardly anybody will be left, including him.

Well slap me with a wet fish....

(BTW, Zuma ordering a corruption probe is like the Fox ordering an inquiry on why the Hen House doors were torn open!)

Thats what happens when he doesn't get his cut. You get probed.

Hmmm, interesting that he decides to do this now. Especially with them striking so soon after e-toll bills started going out...

Lol no surprised there, I was a Retail Postal agent for them for 4 years, they still haven't collect their safe, and took 6 months to collect their other equipment. They were without the CFO, CEO and other C's for a larger part of last year and the year before that, were management were poached or jumped ship, the auditing is the pits.....I could have caused some serious shyte and will still have past the audit.

They paid the postal agency a fixed allowance of 500.00 bucks and commission on other things which never amounted to more than R80.00 for R580 bucks a month they had a fully fledged post office, oh and they didn't pay rent.

More money for the fat cats. The agency sent them a letter, demanding R2500.00 or paying monthly rent plus fixed allowance, or come take your stuff and shove it, they decided on shoving it, moar for the fat cats.

However they, might have kept the agency open to avoid ICSA finding out as they get a yearly fine for failure to put up a post office or agency, so there might also be payments made to this fictitious office which is no longer open, because when I did a track and trace, their system still reflects that the parcel is at this agency, even their head office is dead sure this agency is still open....

I'd much rather see

A proclamation was signed directing the SIU to investigate "serious maladministration in connection with the affairs of J Zuma, improper or unlawful conduct by the officials of J Zuma and unlawful appropriation or expenditure of public money", said spokesperson Mac Maharaj.

Someone should rather order a probe up this useless c*nt's a-hole.... with a bread knife.

Election time. Always an interesting period in our country...
