OK so it is alright for the DA to shout about this in parliament, but where they could show great leadership by donating their increases into (let say a fund to help the missing middle in the varsities) it becomes a silly argument. I hope that this is not the DA style of politics because then they are hypocrites.

Again, it's well documented which party screwed up the economy to the point where we have <1% growth. If you want someone to show leadership, relinquish salaries & show they're not hypocrites etc. the ANC is where you should direct your attention. Asking the DA to sacrifice when the screw-up wasn't theirs is as silly as blaming whites for black government failure, they simply were not responsible. Geddit?

So show voters that they are not just trying to grab the headlines but are forward looking and willing to have a short term sacrifice for the long term future. Africa and South Africa is the doldrums because they blame the past instead of looking to see how they can change the future without blaming the past.
